Oh this is embarrassing. I can't remember what order the events at Nationals took place in. That's what happens when you're still writing up reports a month later!

I am so behind on everything right now. Just completely up to my ears in things that need to get done and our internet connection is going all weird lately..... ugh. So, Nationals. I will eventually get all of it written down.

Things have been super-busy here lately, so quick junior dance thoughts:

1. Really impressed with all of the dancers, in general.

2. New fan of the Shibutanis, they're adorable. I liked them last year, but they completely won me over in St. Paul.

3. Etan and I started playing a fun game called "will they go to Igor?" It would have been more challenging if Igor didn't collect ice dancers.

4. I'm really happy for the Hubbells. Kieffer got sick and I was expecting the worst but their FD is kinda awesome this year, and they skated well (except for the OD).

Also, it's not even ten and this has already happened today. Hi, I'm Kate, I'm an ice dancer. My boyfriend is an ice dancer too. No, we don't skate together. His name is Scott, maybe you know him. ...No, I'm not dating Scott Moir.

Ahhhhh, pre teens. Gotta love them.

Does Evan have to smack a bitch
So I should probably start writing down some of my Nationals thoughts, yeah?

I'll start with the non-skating stuff.

1. Evan Lysacek is still the sweetest guy ever. The poor guy looked SO sick, and seemed really nervous, and he still took the time to talk to his fans. I would be like Yeah right, I'm going to sleep now kthxbai, but Evan was nothing but gracious and wonderful. He's been like that every time I've talked to him, and it makes me an even bigger fan. He seems like a genuinely good guy.

2. He would not stop signing autographs. Frank had to tell him that it was press conference time and that he needed to get his butt moving.

3. Frank Carroll is beyond awesome. He and Evan have got to be the best team ever. Poor Frank got clobbered by a stuffed animal though.

4. Ben Agosto is hilarious, which I already knew. I may not be jumping up and down over B/A anymore, but Ben still rocks. Did anyone else think that he and Tanith were going to jump all over each other after the free dance? Did that make it in the broadcast?

5. What is there to say about Charlie White? He's completely adorable and that smile makes me go weak at the knees NO LIE. It's almost embarrassing.

6. I can't be sure, because I was a long way away from them and it could have been some other dark haired dude with a curly haired pal, but I think that Ben ruffled Charlie's hair which I find priceless.

7. Ryan Bradley gets so cute with fans. He seems genuinely flattered and excited that people cheer for him.

8. I think Kim Navarro might have cried on the podium. I'm really thrilled for her and Brent.

I know I'm missing people, but those are the ones I thought Courtney would be most interested in, lol.

Evan- BLATANT LIE!
I can definitely say that that was the weirdest competition I have ever seen. A tie. It gets funnier the more I hear it.

Will elaborate more on that and on Nats in general whenever I get home!

Oh and because I was asked, it is in my semi-professional opinion to estimate that yes Evan has grown. Six-two? Six-three? Not entirely sure because I was in sort-of-heels and it threw me off.

So... guess who's going to Tanith and Ben's charity show?

Oh yes, that would be me!

And yeah, I'm only going for Evan. No, I don't think I have a problem.

Evan- smile
So. I was pretty determined to dislike that Zac Efron kid, out of no real reason other than spite (his overexposure has been out of control lately, after all). And then I started reading and watching his interviews, and begrudgingly admitting that he seemed rather sweet.

Well, today I saw Hairspray (way cute, BTW). Oh my god I'm in love with Zac Efron. That kid grows on you. He's like adorable, slightly effeminate cancer.

ETA: Coco-- have you seen this Rupert Grint video? HE IS TOO CUTE FOR WORDS.

Oh my
This post is mostly here to remind me that I NEED to open [info]evanicontest back up soon. Stop being a lazy ass, Katrina.

Other than that, I have nothing much to say. Life is boring right now.

They say it's your birthday....

Skating kicked my ass today. And I think I need new boots. Fantastic.

At least the ladybugs haven't been so bad this year. It started like usual, but there's been a real drop-off. THANK GOD.

I am a strange person.

Katrina not so popular as baby name

America doesn't like my name anymore, oh noes! Actually, the first thing I thought was "Good lord, people, Katrina =/= Adolf!" And then I laughed when that same analogy was in the article.

In other news, I have now watched last night's Supernatural three times and it does not get easier. *sob* Can't wait for the finale next week.

Skating has been so fantastic lately. After a long period of sort of drudging through it, I really do remember why I love it so much. I'm having so much fun with it again, and I'm just thrilled about that.

-

Etan and I saw 300 the other day. Seriously, one of the most visually stunning movies I've seen in my life. I enjoyed it quite a bit, actually-- more than I would have guessed. Etan didn't like it very much, poor kid.

-

Harry Potter book seven cover art has been released... I'm torn between anticipation and sadness. I've been reading these since sixth grade! I don't want them to be over!

-

Um, what else? Oh, [info]evanicontest has been doing so well. I'm excited! We get really fantastic entries every week.

-

And finally, the ladybugs are upon us, which means Etan is going totally batshit. I don't know what his obsession is.

Note to self: Stop clicking on .pdf files, you silly twit.

I love this icon. I love Evan. He is way too adorable.

I'm booooooored. And hyper.

Your Brain is Red

Of all the brain types, yours is the most impulsive.
If you think it, you do it. And you can get the bug to pursue almost any passion.
Your thoughts are big and bold. Your mind has no inhibitions.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about love, your dreams, and distant places.

Well, this isn't fun.

Etan and I are in the process of moving, so everything's a mess right now. It's driving me crazy. I can't think straight.

I got my hair cut. I hate it.

I hurt my foot and so I didn't skate today, which makes me cranky.

Firefox is being a bitch.

I need some chocolate.

Does Evan have to smack a bitch
I am just now getting to my Nationals thoughts. I've been sick, so I haven't felt up to it until now.

-I got to see my friends Madison and Keiffer compete in the junior dance event. It was SO close between them and Emily & Evan, but they ultimately ended up with the silver. They were great though! There was only a 0.17 difference between first and second place.

-Mirai Nagasu and Caroline Zhang were very impressive. It's always so interesting to see the younger skaters, and they didn't disappoint. I knew Caroline was amazing, but this was the first time I ever saw Mirai. I think she has a better chance of surviving the puberty monster, but I'm really hoping that both of them make the transition into Seniors smoothly.

-The senior dance event was wonderful because the U.S. suddenly has so many talented teams! I really enjoyed all of the top six and many of the lower-ranked couples. The highlights were definitely Navarro/Bommentre, Davis/White, and of course, Belbin/Agosto. I think B/A's new Amelie free dance is going to be stunning.

-Pairs was... pairs. It's America, how good can the pairs event be? Nam/Leftheris were great in the SP (not so much in the long, unfortunately), and Castile/Okolski did a good job to win the title.

-The senior ladies were great in the short program. WAY more exciting than I thought it was going to be. Bebe Liang won the night for me. The long program was beyond dull, but I was pleased to see Bebe fight back after two falls by throwing in that Lutz combination. She's also a doll when you talk to her.

-The senior men... well, it was all about Evan Lysacek, to tell the truth. His short program was great and he got a standing ovation, which was awesome considering that he skated early. But it was the long program that sticks out for me. I have never experienced anything quite like it. The whole atmosphere was amazing, the crowd was practically chaotic, and Evan gave one of the most magical performances I've ever seen in person. It's right up there with Michelle Kwan's Tosca in 2004. He gave me goosebumps.

-The medal ceremony for the men was another big thing for me... I've been a fan of Evan's since 2003, so I was very emotional to see him win this title.

-Also, it has to be said that Evan is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. He's so good to his fans, and he was just a darling to me. I got to see him several times throughout the week, and he never seemed less than happy to talk to me. I've been fortunate enough to talk to Evan at many competitions before this one, but each time I'm just so impressed with how he handles himself. He's a genuinely nice guy in addition to being an immensely talented skater.

And Courtney, I forgot to tell you... I have something for you!

-Oh, I got to talk to Frank Carroll and Ken Congemi, which was very interesting. Ken is VERY enthusiastic (so he's not just like that on TV... hehe).

-I missed the exhibitions because Etan and I came down with some horrible stomach virus. Disappointing, but I had a great week despite that.
